We have an opening for a Senior Quality Improvement Manager, National Health Campaigns, to support the AMGA Foundation’s national Together 2 Goal® campaign, which aims to improve the lives of one million people living with Type 2 diabetes.
The Senior Quality Improvement Manager will be primarily responsible for leading and implementing activities that will support the Together 2 Goal® campaign’s Innovator Track. The Innovator Track is intended to accommodate the campaign’s participating medical groups and health systems who would like to explore topics beyond the standard diabetes measures (which include A1c, blood pressure, lipid management, and medical attention for nephropathy). This position will also provide direction, clinical input, and technical support as needed to help facilitate meaningful outcomes for AMGA’s national campaign.
Manages all activities for the campaign’s Innovator Track including planning, meetings, content development, advisory committee selection and coordination, measurement exploration, case study oversight, budget, member group outreach, site visits, and sponsor relations.
Provides clinical support to the planning and development of all campaign activities and materials as needed.
Conducts outreach, coaching, and site visits to provide technical support, identify best practices, and determine needs and resources for participating groups in the campaign.
Understands and uses data and analytical tools to evaluate member group performance.
Researches and writes best practices articles and white papers on campaign groups’ successes and improvements.
Assists in development of measurement specifications for all campaign related projects.
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in project management, healthcare, research development, or related setting
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field; Masters preferred
Some clinical experience preferred
Experience in population health management, program development and implementation at a medical group or health system
Experience in the development, implementation, and/or oversight of quality improvement projects
Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, such as LEAN, six sigma, and statistical process control
Knowledge of major quality improvement measurement programs (PQRS, Core Measures, Meaningful Use, HEDIS, PCMH, CAHPS, etc.)
Experience with clinical and administrative derived data
Understanding and experience in using analytical tools
Demonstrated experience in provider engagement and coaching skills
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple ongoing, concurrent projects
Creative problem-solver who is flexible in coaching techniques
Willing to travel
Strong self-management ability, yet also functions well in a team environment
