Job Description |
 |
Responsibilities include: - Manages professional level associates engaged in various levels of programming and data analysis that includes compiling, manipulating, analyzing, and reporting of data.
- Oversee the team that will prepare, verify, and manage research data sets from administrative health insurance claims databases as per provided specifications. Team responsibilities include
- Performing ad-hoc queries and providing customized reports based on longitudinal patient databases according to internal and external requests using Teradata, SQL server and sometimes SAS.
- Working with research staff in order to develop the business logic needed to answer specific research questions
- Conducting programming and data quality checks
- Participating in complete project lifecycle: requirements gathering, programming, testing/troubleshooting, quality assurance, and creation of final deliverables
- Manages, participates and coordinates the development and implementation of new/revised processes and procedures, such as developing new programming standards or guidelines
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports

Requirements |

Qualifications: This position requires a BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field, and 5+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of programming languages and statistical software required. - Demonstrated proficiency in EITHER Teradata, SQL Server, or SAS 9.1.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong data management skills – will be handling large volumes of health plan administrative claims data
- Highly developed reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Self motivated, with ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to plan, organize, and work on multiple tasks simultaneously and in multidisciplinary teams
- Previous people and project management experience
- Research experience a plus
- Experience with administrative health insurance claims data preferred
