Job Summary The Senior Project Data Analyst Supervisor performs analysis and management of enterprise data which includes creating data models, setting up databases, data analysis and ensuring data integrity from various multiple payer data sources (both in-house applications and data repositories). The Sr. Project Data Analyst Supervisor will lead, coach and provide leadership support to Project Data Analyst(s) to ensure projects are being delivered on time and of highest quality. In addition to acting as the key analytics and predictive modeling expert within the team, the supervisor will work with the team to define the long term predictive analytics strategy to address business goals.
Participates in department project initiatives. Provides substantial input into development and implementation of project plans, test plans. Communicates with and builds collaborative relationships with inter-departmental users, other IT roles, and third-party vendors to ensure software, database and reporting mechanisms remain standards-based.
Supervise and direct staff including interview, select, hire, and discipline staff as needed. Mentor, train, and coach staff by developing techniques to better communicate, collaborate, coordinate, and organize workload activities while instilling cooperation among team members for organizational success. Implement standards of accountability, evaluate employees' performance, recognize achievements, and counsel as necessary. Collaborate with other leaders and staff across the organization.
Providing guidance and leadership support to support the implementation of additional information technology initiatives in department and the ongoing integration of new source systems to feed other applications and databases. Serves as an expert resource on data, helps with interface design, define meta data, create data dictionaries and perform data verification, validations and other QA activities. Provides consultancy to evaluate potential for increased automation and efficiency in data mining, analysis and reporting.
Ensures that the data analyst team translates the data into a variety of formats including raw data, graphs and other pictorial formats, reports and presentations. Presents actionable data to end users in the format best matched to their needs, including publishing key reports using various software (e.g. Tibco Spotfire, JasperSoft, Tableau) or other similar tools. Lead the team who will provide support to users in interpreting and presenting data, including presentation of data to individuals and groups.
Demonstrates ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop a variety of standard, ad-hoc and customized decision support reports. Work with copious amounts of data (facts, figures, and number crunching) and see through the data and analyze it to find conclusions.
Interacts and works collaboratively to integrate, coordinate, and manage data integrity and reporting out of multiple systems. Communicates and collaborates with other department leaders in managing day-to-day aspects of projects, identifying resources needed and choosing the most efficient method of data extraction and analysis.
