VCU Health System's Clinical Enterprise Administration, is seeking to fill a full time Sr. Associate Business Development position. Supports the clinical, academic and service missions of the Strategic Partnership and Market Development office by managing the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects in relation to development of strategic affiliations and partnerships. Provides support in strategic due diligence, project oversight of key initiatives, relationship management, financial management and business case development.
Leads, plans and implements projects including full-scale project plans and establishes deadlines.
Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.
Supports management of the development of partnerships and business systems agreements.
Defines project tasks and resource requirements including resource allocation.
Utilizes appropriate tools to track project deliverables.
Provides direction and support to project team members.
Evaluates projects and assesses results including but not limited to constant monitoring and reporting progress, problems and solutions to all stakeholders.
Implements and manages project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
Evaluates external market and internal organization for service development and strategic partnership opportunities.
Assists in the implementation and enforcement of all VCUHS policies and procedures.
Provides team leadership through development process and implementation of business development initiatives
Assists in the resolution of administrative problems and maintains an open line of communication with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional atmosphere.
Market research, data analysis and due diligence of potential partners and appropriate partnership structures.
Works closely with VCUHS & MCVP finance staff to manage project budgets and ensures projects remain within the parameters of the established budget.
Remains knowledgeable of current national trends and open to applying new techniques and the use of innovative concepts as they apply to the budgeting process and business development.
Analyzes, interprets and reports on major budget variances to the appropriate administrative staff.
Achieves the project pro-forma budgets during planning and execution of business development projects.
Bachelors in Business, Finance, Health Administration, or related field from an accredited program
Minimum 3 years of previous work experience in a department of an academic medical center or other healthcare arena
Previous experience with regulatory requirements pertaining to healthcare services and physician practices
Master's Degree in Business administration, finance, Health Administration, or related field from an accredited program
Previous experience using Microsoft applications
Previous work experience working in day-to-day contact with physicians
Experience working within a matrix organization
Experience guiding stakeholders without direct report authority
Previous management/supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
