Job Summary The Senior Director of Rehabilitation Services assumes responsibility and accountability for incorporating the vision, values, mission, and critical goals of the organization into their job performance. Provides management and operational direction for Therapy Services across a minimum of two departments at multiple campus locations. Provides leadership and coordination within areas of responsibility. Serves as tactical point person as it relates to staff development, physician relationships, quality initiatives, program development and campus-wide success within areas of responsibility. Ensures quality service and patient care are provided within licensing/regulatory guidelines. Serves as senior leadership within the rehabilitation practice ensuring alignment and continuity between all practices within the network.
Promotes an environment that supports excellence in personalized patient care and service by creating a leadership model committed to high quality clinical care and service. Fosters collaborative partnerships with medical staff, members of the organization and community. Ensures network-wide continuity and alignment between Rehabilitation Departments.
Develops and is accountable for annual capital and operational budgets for defined areas of responsibility. Develops a strategic plan for short and long range goals including material, fiscal, and human resources needs. Develops and implements strategies to improve overall financial performance of therapy services at assigned campus.
Develops outpatient therapy departments as stand- alone business units. Responsible for customer development, responsiveness to customer needs, physician referral development, marketing, patient flow, patient complaints, business office functions and driving bottom line growth. Manages sports medicine/athletic trainer contracts for the system.
Oversees the staff and ensure adequate staffing levels, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching and developing employees ensuring employee productivity, quality of work, and alignment of goals with our mission, vision, and values. Ensure compliance with all policies, financial stewardship by being accountable for the financial integrity around development and maintenance of department budget.
Directs, manages, schedules and evaluates staff assigned to the defined areas. Monitors competence of staff. Develops and implements action plans to improve clinical skills in individuals not meeting competency targets. Sets direction and provides oversight for recruitment and retention strategies. Selects and hires staff based on departmental staffing plans and staff needs. Develops and mentors therapy supervisors to help achieve department goals. Promotes a safe and positive work environment supportive of individual practitioner autonomy and accountability. Plans, establishes and revises work assignments. Initiates changes in classification, salary, promotion, demotion, transfer, and termination. Responsible for approval and submission of time cards, enforcement of and adherence to HR policies, requisition, maintenance, and inventory of clinic equipment and supplies. Settles employee issues, counsels employees and administers appropriate disciplinary action as needed.
Actively participates in efforts at the unit and organizational level to improve patient satisfaction. Actively participates at the service line and organizational level to achieve balanced scorecard metrics. Actively participates with medical staff, members of the management team and the community to promote collegiality, communication, and operational effectiveness and efficiency. Responsible for implementation and management of organization policies and procedures as they relate to the delivery of services and advises Director(s) on potential impact to areas of responsibility. Facilitates and supports educational opportunities to provide innovative earning experiences for staff and students and creates a culture of development. Fosters collaborative relationships with external organizations within the therapy/rehabilitation community such as schools and other non-profit entities. Develops and maintains systems for clinical and management records and reports to comply with State and Federal regulatory agencies, accreditation agencies and other legal regulatory bodies.
