The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Development will report directly to the Vice President of Development, and will supervise the Corporate and Community Engagement Manger and the Manager of Special Events, including supporting both in their own supervisory responsibilities. AVP will oversee day to day operations of the Foundation and will work with the VP to set quarterly, annual, and long-term objectives, strategies, and action plans to support the Foundation's strategic plan. The AVP will liaise with the Foundation's central services, including the Grants, Annual Giving, Stewardship and Donor Relations, and Research teams. Will also oversee and implement strategy for the hospital's capital campaign, including but not limited to coordinating solicitations, creating materials (electronic presentations, marketing materials, solicitation scripts, proposals) and will prepare and track all gift agreements. Assist VP with special projects as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Seven plus years of fundraising experience, with supervisory experience required. Hospital or other health care experience a plus but not mandatory. Bachelor's degree required. Candidates must have demonstrated success soliciting and closing gifts from individuals in the five, six and seven-figure range. Ideally, candidates will have experience managing up internally and with volunteers, creating individual and team goals and strategy, comfort working in Excel and CRM's to oversee moves management process, and building new fundraising programs. Sound judgement, superior organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory. Driver's license and local travel is required.
