JOB SUMMARY: Independently and/or as member of a research team apply a variety of intermediate and advanced statistical genetic techniques and technical skills to promote the collection, analysis and interpretation of data arising from research studies in an academic research program.
Collaborates as a key member of a research team on the design, budgeting, and analysis of research projects utilizing next-generation sequencing.
Assists the research team in the design of methods to collect and analyze information derived from bulk and single-cell genomics approaches.
Provide concierge/end-to-end service for single-cell genomics and other genomics projects including study design, identification of appropriate analytical and statistical methods, development of novel analytical methods, budgeting, and manuscript preparation.
Participates in the preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts summarizing data analysis results using appropriate methods and techniques.
Organize and instruct sequencing analysis workshops using single-cell and bulk sequencing approaches.
Participates in the development of operations and procedures for the collection, editing, verification and management of next-generation sequencing data.
Collaborates as a member of a research team on the implementation and analysis of research projects.
Implements analysis, including data verification and data correction using appropriate hardware and software for the management and analysis of data.
Manipulates standard data formats to create input and output formats for analysis software.
Assists in the publication of research projects.
Coursework in immunology, biostatistics
Knowledge/experience in NGS
Ability to prepare detailed, concise technical reports; strong written and oral communication skills
Experience in RNAseq
Basic knowledge of R and/or Python—training available and will be part of job
Working knowledge of molecular biology, genetics, and genomics
Broad interest in single cell technologies
Preferential consideration for:
Experience in single cell preparation methods
Experience with cell sorting methods
Experience with one or more single cell platform such as 10X Chromium, Drop-Seq, Fluidigm C1, or other
Experience in genomic and sequence analysis such as single cell genomic and transcriptomic data analysis, RNA-Seq, Exome-seq, Chip-seq, construction of data processing pipelines, and quality control/quality assurance analysis
Experience using cloud computing and/or high-performance computing systems for NGS analysis
Experience with database design and web applications
