Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is seeking a financially savvy and adaptable leader to join our team as Operations Manager, Medicine.
As a position integral to the success of the inpatient, outpatient, internal medicine, and palliative areas, this individual will identify and execute innovative strategies to improve the way we provide general medical healthcare.
The Operations Manager will provide leadership in assigned areas with oversight from the Operations Director and other leaders. This individual will be responsible for coordinating and managing the use of shared resources, including laboratories and related labor within the department to promote collaboration between research scientists and staff within assigned areas. A newly created position for this department, the Operations Manager will develop policies, procedures and training to enhance service, quality and cost for assigned areas.
This individual will have extensive involvement in the direction of departmental operations for assigned areas including financial, grant, and clinical trials development and maintenance, benchmarking and general service enhancement. A participant in the strategic planning process for assigned areas, this individual will be tasked with identifying opportunities for new or expanded programs in conjunction with department leadership.
As a leader focused on developing and retaining talent the operations manager will serve as a coach and role model providing career enhancement and continuing education opportunities for all assigned staff.
Bachelor’s Degree with one year of management experience required.
Demonstrated success as an innovator and change agent and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external community and business partners.
Preferred qualifications: Project management skills, budget and financial background. Experience in healthcare, or higher education environment helpful.
