Position responsibilities: Planning, coordinating, monitoring and improving the clinical care and safe outcomes at Community Medical Center. The Manager will lead multiple large scale, multi-departmental or organization-wide clinical quality and patient safety improvement initiatives and coordinating the work of other team facilitators within the organization for the same. Examine existing models of care delivery to identify opportunities for systems-based improvements grounded in evidence, best practices, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements and data analysis of high risk, high volume and/or problem prone processes. Responsible for negotiating timeliness and priorities for projects, coordinating action plans, and monitoring/analyzing results for projects that are consistent with the organization's strategic goals and imperatives. Act as an organizational resources for patient safety, high reliability and performance improvement concepts, tools and methods. Facilitate and advise on Cause Analysis methods to identify implementation of action plans and reporting MOS related to such events. Act as a liaison between the RWJBH VP of High Reliability and Community Medical Center to ensure appropriate execution of system initiatives and directives at the local level. Work with the Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance to meet all standards related to patient safety and clinical quality. Position requirements: Five (5) years clinical experience, or experience working in quality and patient safety, or a combination thereof. Preferred experience working with high reliability concepts and cause analysis. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and QI Macros (including graphs, e.g. line, pareto, and control graphs, or the ability to learn these programs. Strong working knowledge of Visio, or ability to learn. Proven ability to facilitate interdisciplinary teams. Strong project management skills and ability to work independently. Excellent problem solving, planning, and organizational abilities. Detail oriented with attention to follow-up. Effective interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
