Under general supervision and working with the product vendors, the Business Systems Analyst will install, maintain, and configure systems software to perform in an efficient and reliable manner. The Business Systems Analyst will be required to learn the operational processes and required documentation skills of the Cancer Center to aid in the development, implementation, and maintenance of an efficient, effective, and resource-rich Oncology Information Systems (OIS). Responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution in regards to hardware and software. Responsible for monitoring the network (e.g., response time, alert messages, backups, etc.) Provide problem resolution that frequently requires immediate actions. Support system software including operating systems, database, server and other communications systems. Performs configuration changes to accommodate hardware additions and deletions. Improves operating efficiency by developing improved methods and software solutions. Maintain all Information Technology Systems in the Cancer Center. Responsible for the analysis, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support tasks associated with the development of electronic assessment tools, documentation templates, order sets, care plans, and other customizable clinical components of the OIS based on industry standards and documented best practices and in accordance with hospital policy, TJC regulations, and Medicare and other payer requirements. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

Degree of Supervision Required:
General guidance and direction by the Cancer Center Director, Medical Physics and IT department as necessary. The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
To maintain the Oncology Information System, work with product vendors and staff to assure proper use of the systems.
Bachelors degree in Database Systems, Computer Science or related field preferred. Associates degree in Database Systems, Computer Science or related field required.
Experience in application support, information systems and/or sequel database preferred. Must possess knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient, internal and external customer.
