Job Summary The Clinical Informaticist will work closely with clinical departments to optimize system implementations, enhancements, and upgrades. Applies broad informatics knowledge (technical and process) to help deploy and train new system implementations and/or functionalities, as well as evaluate and optimize system utilization and workflow. Responsible to provide user and consultative support, trouble shoot issues, and insure optimal systems performance. Provides after hours support for applications as needed. Works closely with IS supervisors, managers, project management and internal customers.
Supports clinical information system and optimization projects. Analyzes and evaluates clinic/user current state clinical workflow. Identifies significant issues, sharing findings with project team to promote system and process optimization. Creates the system configuration build within the clinical application and workflows. Primary resource responsible for training for new users implementing clinical automation. Provides on-site go-live support. Communicates project schedules, tasks, issues and overall status to the project manager with a written status report
Serves as a consultant to optimize workflow and care processes related to clinical information management post clinical implementation. Works closely with management and the project team to evaluate and optimize the use of clinical informatics by clinical and non-clinical users. Provides post go-live support sessions, refresher trainings, optimization sessions, new user trainings, and additional training as needed. Conduct end-user process audits and report's findings and recommendations to management and project team as appropriate.
Documents, communicates, and educates the process and technology changes as a result of clinical systems, upgrades and functionality enhancements. Develops and maintains high quality documentation and training materials. Collaborates with management and project team to deliver and evaluate quality training materials and agendas inclusive of system and process changes
Provides application support (technical and process)
Provides after hours support for clinical applications and other applications as assigned via the on-call roster
Maintains skills currency surrounding clinical informatics knowledge and monitors for new trends in IT application support.
Education Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' related experience in Computer Science, Healthcare, Clinical area or similar discipline Required
Experience 1 year experience working in Healthcare industry utilizing clinical information systems including electronic medical records in an acute care system and working with Physicians Required
