Vice President, Heart & Vascular and Neuroscience Service Lines at Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, GA
Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) announces an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished service line executive to serve as Vice President of the Heart & Vascular and Neuroscience Services Lines. Anchored by Northeast Georgia Medical Center's three hospital campuses – NGMC Gainesville, NGMC Braselton and NGMC Barrow – with a total of 713 beds and more than 700 medical staff members representing more than 50 specialties, the health system provides care to more than a million people in more than 18 counties across Northeast Georgia.
The Heart Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center is the largest cardiology practice in the region and recognized as the State’s leader in cardiac care with more than 69 providers and 16 locations. The Heart Center performs more than 8,000 cardiac procedures and consultations for more than 33,000 patients each year. NGHS currently provides a broad range of diagnostic and treatment services for patients with neurological disorders, including an accredited Primary Stroke Center, dedicated stroke and neurosurgery inpatient units, a fully-equipped Neurophysiology Lab, and an accredited Sleep Disorders Center. Significant resources have been allocated to support continued expansion in neurology and neurosurgery across the health system.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of NGMC, and in a dyad leadership model with Medical Directors for The Heart Center and Neurosciences, the Vice President (VP) provides leadership to a team of 480 full-time employees, including seven direct reports and 40 advanced practice nurses. The Vice President will be responsible for maximizing the operational efficiency, profitability and growth of The Heart Center and Neuroscience service lines to continue to elevate Northeast Georgia Health System as a leader in specialty care. The VP will ensure the full integration of services across the health system to achieve the highest levels of clinical quality outcomes, patient satisfaction and value within the cardiovascular and neuroscience service lines. The VP will support and enhance the delivery of quality patient care through service integration, staff and resource management and new program development.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a minimum of five years’ progressive experience in leading and coordinating a hospital-based cardiovascular service line, with proficiency in operations, strategy, marketing and finance. Excellent leadership qualities, communication skills, and the ability to establish strong alignment with physicians and staff is required. An advanced degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or service line specialization is highly preferred, as well as previous or current experience in leading a neuroscience service line.
