The Vice Chair works in close partnership with the Facilities and Support Services Chair to provide leadership, guidance, counsel and direction to management and staff across all divisions. The Vice Chair is an integral member of the Executive Team and participates in the development and execution of overall department strategies including electronic and physical plant infrastructure support services. The Vice Chair is responsible for helping manage the budget of $160 million and a staff of more than 1400. Collaborates with physician and administration leaders throughout the Enterprise to enhance relationships and ensure successful operations. Participates in institution-wide planning and decision making.
The Vice Chair helps carry out the mission of Mayo Clinic and Facilities and Support Services and has particular responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the department. Leads management of operational and administrative duties. The Vice Chair is responsible for managing, coaching and mentoring management team members and ensuring the teams achieve performance. The Vice Chair manages infrastructure, reporting mechanisms and dissemination of information to enhance productivity. The incumbent directly oversees implementation of new initiatives and compliance with regulations. Represents Department interests by contributing to the decision-making process in all committee and task force assignments. May require frequent regional travel.
License or certification Basic qualifications: A Masters degree in one of the following disciplines is required: health care administration, business administration, computer science, or engineering. Requires a minimum of ten years of broad based senior management experience workingin a variety of assignments. Leadership experience in the facilities, engineering and health care fields preferred.
