This position exists to arrange for participants in the position exposure to various aspects of academic medicine and the function of Banner Health. This position will provide an opportunity for emerging health leaders, identify specific skills and knowledge, develop marketable experiences, contribute to and promote diversity and cultural competency at Banner. This position will also give current Banner Health Administrators the opportunity to take part in the participants growth and development by inclusive high level committees that address strategic and operational issues impacting the academic system within Banner.
Manages diverse portfolio of healthcare projects and is expected to make meaningful contributions to the progress and work product of these initiatives and meet project sponsors needs. Becomes part of the work unit team to carry out assigned work within the rotation. Identifies and uses internal and external support resources to accomplish work goals. Offers information and perspectives regarding current trends and issues to stimulate new ideas and thinking.
Builds a broad range of healthcare management skills. Works effectively with physicians, administrative colleagues and allied health staff to promote the team concept of medicine at Banner Health. Contributes to committee work that is related to rotation assignment.
Describes and integrates the functions and relationships of the following in support of Banner Healths vision: practice, education and research; inpatient and outpatient settings; physicians, administrators and other allied health staff; hiring, training, retaining and terminating employees; costs, charges, revenue, providers and payers.
Seeks ways to continuously improve processes and outcomes and provide exceptional patient care. Studies and applies improvement methodologies including data collection and analysis, group facilitation and implementation strategies.
Meets with the leadership on a regular basis to discuss fellowship and to report on progress of current projects.
Participates in the systems strategic planning process as needed.
Assists in development of other programs and services as assigned.
Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or Healthcare Community Delivery. Must be a graduate from a program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) or Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AASCB).
Must possess skills, aptitude and interest in attaining executive level within the health care field.
