Vice President-Development - Robert Wood Johnson-Hamilton
This full time leadership position is responsible for leading the growth, development, and successful execution of a comprehensive major gift program, building relationships and a pipeline of annual donors with the ultimate goal of cultivating major donors. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the successful design and implementation of vehicles to build the major giving pipeline including stewardship, public relations/communications, annual giving and corporate alliances. As a member of the leadership team this individual will be responsible for fostering a culture of philanthropy with a talented, dedicated team of passionate individuals focused on exceeding the goals and metrics of the RWJUH Hamilton.
Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's or advanced degree is preferred.
Certification from the Association of Fundraising Professionals or equivalent is highly desired.
At least 5-8 years with a proven track record of fundraising experience gained in relevant positions of increasing responsibility and scope. At least 5 years of direct people leadership with both direct and indirect reports.
Demonstrated fundraising success in corporate, foundation, workplace, individual and major gifts along with additional sources of revenue generation.
Several years' experience building, developing and retaining strong relationships with donors and volunteers, including board members. A collaborative and communicative work-style that translates into strong results with donors as well as internal partners.
Outstanding communication skills: an attentive listener, articulate speaker, and clear and persuasive writer.
Excellent strategic, organizational and project management skills. A decisive, "roll-up-the sleeves," results-oriented individual.
Must have the ability to motivate and inspire confidence among staff, colleagues, volunteers and donors.
Proven ability to create a dynamic development team that understands the importance in designing and implementing a comprehensive development plan to exceed the goals of the RWJUH Hamilton's strategic plan and annual budget.
