Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years experience
Seeking an enthusiastic, intellectually curious self-starter with educational experience and good presentation skills to assist with the development and facilitation of a research training program for clinical trial budgeting and billing compliance. This new training program is in response to extensive process and software changes to support improvements resulting from Vanderbilt University Medical Center's adoption of Epic for its electronic medical records and patient billing and to provide continuing billing compliance education and training. The program and materials developed by this position will be utilized in providing ongoing education and training after the EPIC (eStar) adoption.
The individual will be a member of the VICTR Clinical Research Fiscal Support Services and will collaborate closely with VICTR programs including VICTR Informatics, the Department of Finance-Clinical Trial Billing Compliance, Health IT, and others. He or she will perform as a member of the education and training team including facilitation and coordination of materials, education space, resources and provide education.

Key Functions and Expected Performances
Learn the research domain, regulatory guidance and laws and applicable policies, in order to effectively plan for, establish and execute training programs accordingly, including participation in developing written procedures for implementing new/changing technology and processes. Assist with planning, implementation, evaluation and revisions of staff training in accordance with regulatory and area/hospital policies and procedures.
Coordinate and contribute to the preparation and delivery of training program content, instructional material, and format for delivery (in-service training, webinar, video, web, application help-text, etc.).
Participate in event planning: determine appropriate audiences; identify and schedule educational venues; develop surveys to facilitate participant registration; develop advertisements and notices of educational offerings; stage, set up and break down rooms; facilitate meetings; and respond to problems, questions, and scheduling-related inquiries.
Analyze curricula to select the best methods to achieve desired performance and learning objectives. Utilize rapid instructional design tools and processes as well as adult learning theory and experience. Conduct formal and informal methods of evaluating program effectiveness including conducting learning assessments for individuals and groups.
Respond to leadership in establishing and documenting metrics, benchmarks and appropriate performance measures. Document and summarize needs assessments, accomplishments and challenges. Identify process improvements and need for re-education or alternative educational/informational methods by listening to participants.
Maintain calendar and records for all training/professional development sessions.
Secure appropriate levels of credit for participation (CEU, IRB, GCP, etc.)
Design and develops effective and engaging learning and educational training materials that include technologically innovative and instructionally sound deliverables to ensure effective and engaging learning, with occasional guidance. Train education providers and new and existing administrative staff in addition to end users, managing multiple projects, timelines, work plans, and deliverables. Coordinate onboarding and training efforts for new staff end users.
Determine and compile supply and other expenses, managing budgets required to deliver training programs.
Investigate and utilize available technology including web-based information in support of education/training programs. Identify and participate in professional development opportunities from external sources.
