JOB SUMMARY:
This is a full-time regional Medicare sales representative position responsible for new sales of Medicare Advantage HMO and PPO plans, and Medicare supplemental plans. Influence community-based organizations to build collaborative relationships to develop prospects and promote interest in Geisinger products as well as support relationships with existing strategic partners. Assist Manager and Director, Medicare Sales with developing sales strategies to implement in designated region that results in meeting or exceeding enrollment goals. Deliver sales presentations to Medicare eligible audiences in a group setting as well as in a home setting regarding Geisinger’s Medicare products. Present the managed care concept to employer groups and unions.
This is a field-based position, whereby you become the face of Geisinger throughout your assigned region. The position requires you reside in one of these county’s and travel within these counties: Bradford, Tioga, Cameron, Potter, Sullivan, Lycoming, and Clinton.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrated organization and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated effective communication skills with proven negotiation and leadership abilities.
Ability to pay attention to detail and be detail-oriented.
Ability to be a self-starter, accept travel and work independently in the field.
Ability to manage contacts and leads, track and report on same using a CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field, or minimum three years sales experience preferred.
Insurance and/or health care background required.
Sales experience in a senior market preferred.
Accident and Health Insurance License required (must be obtained within 60 days of employment).
Experience with PC software including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment, public or home setting.
Independent travel is required.
Flexibility in work hours required.
