RN Clinical Educator - Perianesthesia
Overview Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is looking for a Surgical Services Pre-op/PACU/Stage 2 Registered Nurse Clinical Educator in beautiful Fairbanks, Alaska. The Perianesthesia unit is comprised of Pre-Op and PACU Phase I and II. PACU is an 12 bed unit located in our recently built state-of-the-art Surgery Center and boasts seven new operating suites with cutting edge technology. The dynamic Peri-Operative Department team provides care to patients of all surgical specialties of all ages from neonates through geriatrics (excluding neuro and cardiac) and averages 22 cases per day. The staff in the Perianethesia unit is a highly engaged team who value commitment and teamwork in the department. Extensive orientation program developed using policy and the ASPAN (American Society of Perianesthesia Nurses) standards and Competency Based Orientation. The successful Registered Nurse Clinical Educator candidate will have a minimum of 2-years’ experience in Med/Surg and preferred experience in Perianesthesia and/or critical care. This position enhances professional practice through planning, developing and conducting education, development and education and training for nursing and other key clinical services staff. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and provides guidance to staff and key leaders based on results. Facilitates assessment and identification of ongoing learning needs for staff development programs. Designs and delivers programs that support the organization’s mission, vision, values and strategic goals implemented using the organization’s framework for professional nursing practice and development and the American Nurses Association scope and standards of practice for nursing professional development. Supports eWeb technology and other e-learning applications. About Fairbanks Memorial Hospital *ACLS/PALS certification preferred upon hire or required within 8 weeks of starting
Position Available: Full time Exempt, 40 hours/week, typically weekdays with some flexibility to meet education needs of staff
