The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking to hire a faculty member to lead a cutting-edge translational research program. Research areas of interest include studies of tumor immunology and radiobiology. Academic rank, compensation and appointment type will be based on qualifications and experience. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong record of research productivity. Evidence of an established research program with external funding is preferred. Minimum requirements are MD, DO, or MD/PhD, four years post-graduate training in radiation oncology, board certified or board eligible in radiation oncology and eligibility for medical licensure in Minnesota. The faculty appointment will be in the Department of Radiation Oncology. The candidate will also be expected to maintain a clinical practice and may see patients at other clinics throughout the Minneapolis metro area. The position provides substantial resources, state-of-the-art facilities, and exceptional opportunities for collaboration with investigators in the University of Minnesota Medical School and the Masonic Cancer Center (http://www.cancer.umn.edu), an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Candidates will have the opportunity to mentor and teach PhD, MD/PhD and medical students. Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate’s area of specialty/research experience with a goal of developing collaborative or independent, externally funded research.
