The primary function of the Ambulatory Marketing Program Manager is to plan, coordinate and manage the development and execution of consumer and business-focused marketing and communications to support growth and brand awareness for El Camino Health Medical Network (ECHMN), which includes the urgent care, primary and specialty care clinics. This position will develop strong working relationships across the enterprise functions and the El Camino Health Medical Network line of business as well as with partners involved in specialty lines of business. The Ambulatory Marketing Program Manager contributes to the success of the ambulatory line of business by understanding customer needs and developing and executing marketing strategies and tactics that drive growth and improve the customer experience. The position will seek progressive and innovative means to convey and promote the El Camino Health’s (ECH) Masterbrand and value proposition by building awareness and engagement between the community and the organization’s physicians and ambulatory services.
Key responsibilities include:
Working with ECHMN leaders to develop a vision, goals, strategies and tactics to successfully penetrate the market and achieve desired business results
Leading the development and execution of short and long-term marketing strategies and plans to increase revenue, maximize profit and grow market share in alignment with the organization’s business goals
Working with the marketing and communications department team members and external partners to execute cross-channel marketing plans that drive awareness, community engagement, and effectively communicate relevance through the organization’s specialized service offerings
Assessing the market opportunity through analytics of key consumer segments, positioning and target marketing strategies; using that knowledge to develop promotional and education campaigns that reach and engage both B2B and consumer targets
Assessing competitor activities and identifying implications for positioning ECH’s ambulatory offering in the market
Developing and maintaining ambulatory market expertise and contacts within the market and with key associations to gather competitive information and identify new ideas and best practices
Coordinating with Physician Liaison Services and Operations to provide the marketing components of the new physician onboarding process, including their inclusion on digital properties and integration into other established marketing programs and enterprise service line efforts
Working with clinic-based regional managers to ensure brand and message consistency in all clinic locations
Serving as liaison with marketing staff at partner organizations to ensure coordinated and aligned messaging
Developing and managing assigned budgets for marketing plan activities assigned to this responsibility; analyzing budget variances and recommending corrective actions
Providing project management and day-to-day coordination for execution of marketing initiatives
Analyzing ROI, campaign results and online analytics to inform program improvements
Contributing to market research activities to analyze and identify market needs and issues, when necessary
Educating ECHMN staff on the purpose of building and enhancing understanding the ECH Masterbrand, as well as programs and services throughout the enterprise to improve patient continuum of care and increased customer lifetime value
Working collaboratively with ECHMN staff to ensure operational and clinical readiness and alignment prior to marketing execution
Identifying opportunities for cross-promotion with marketing colleagues within the department
Participating in appropriate business units and/or service line meetings as marketing’s representative and reporting back to marketing department leadership
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or relevant major, while an advanced degree in business or public sector equivalent, marketing/communications or health related field is preferred. Must have 7 years’ marketing and communications experience, 5 years of demonstrated experience and responsibility executing multi-channel communications, brand management and digital communications with a strong understanding of the business planning, measuring success and challenges of the healthcare industry, and experience working with traditional and emerging marketing concepts, marketing strategies, service-industry promotion, market analysis and forecasting. Additional requirements include:
Excellent writing and communications skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the marketing organization when working with “internal clients” such as employees, physicians and senior-level executives within the medical network and clinic operations
Demonstrated success and understanding and executing cross-channel marketing tactics to drive consumer engagement such as social and digital media, advertising and communications platforms, marketing automation/CRM, content creation, and website management
Advanced computer knowledge, knowledge of social media platforms, CRM and database platforms, as well as web analytical tools
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and managing other digital platforms such as Adobe, GoTo Meeting, Zoom, etc.
