The Injury Prevention Data Technician is responsible for evaluating all Emergency Department patients and abstracting accurate and timely data into the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS) system for the Consumer Product Safety Comission (CPSC). They position works in conjunction with the Trauma Service, Manager of Child Life, and the Injury Prevention Coordinator to develop and implement injury prevention programs in the community. The incumbent is responsible for attending trauma injury prevention and outreach programs across the continuum of care through external program education, marketing, outreach, and prevention activities. Collaborates with public relations and community partners for educational opportunities for and with the public for the trauma program and other clinical programs. Acts as a liaison for the hospital with local community organizations for clinical education.
