As the IT Support Engineer for onsite printers, you will part of the IT Centralization Services department supporting the hospitals and clinics located in the east valley of the Phoenix Metro area. You will be providing onsite field service technical support for copiers, printers, multifunction printers, and other computer device hardware performing equipment installation/upgrades, troubleshooting and problem resolution, and preventative maintenance in accordance with standard guidelines and procedures. POSITION SUMMARY This position provides technical support for copiers, printers, MFPs, and other computer device hardware. This includes performing equipment installation/upgrades, troubleshooting and problem resolution, and preventative maintenance in accordance with standard guidelines and procedures. The position interfaces with other information technology team members, as well as employees, leaders and physicians on a regular basis to support information technology needs. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Installs, repairs, configures and performs ongoing usability and maintenance copiers, printers, multifunction devices and other computer device hardware, of desktop computers, following standard departmental procedures and standards. 2. Follows standard procedures to perform preventative maintenance on fleet devices. Documents all actions, places appropriate parts/supply orders. 3. Follows standard procedures to perform advanced troubleshooting activities, escalating issues to other information technology departments/staff as needed. Documents all actions and problem resolution of end-user requests using tracking management systems. Keeps customers informed through problem resolution. 4. Facilitates moves, adds, changes, and repairs of hardware equipment. This position works closely with other departmental areas, end users, and third-party vendors and is responsible for documenting all request activities. May participate with the implementation of new or upgrade of compute device standards. 5. Prepares and completes necessary documentation as it relates to hardware inventory, parts/supplies inventory and hardware needs for the facility/location. Maintains an accurate car stock inventory. Assists with ensuring appropriate levels of equipment are maintained. 6. This position provides technical support to all levels of staff and leadership at designated work location(s), following established guidelines and procedures. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must possess knowledge as typically obtained through the completion of an associate's degree in electronics, computer technology or related field, plus two years field experience. Knowledge of copiers, multifunction devices, printers, peripheral devices, laptops, desktops and other related equipment operations, diagnostics and repairs. Must possess good oral and written communication skills. Requires excellent customer service skills to interact with all levels within the organization. As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS General knowledge of information technology and healthcare is desirable. CompTIA A+ certification desired. General knowledge of the use of test instruments and hand tools. Additional related education and/or experience preferred. |
