JOB SUMMARY Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is responsible for a comprehensive program of workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion at Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH), which may include innovative approaches to talent acquisition, talent development, talent assessment, workforce planning, and associated education and communications. Oversees the design and delivery of initiatives, programs, and projects that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within BSWH. Develops strategic and operational plans with program goals, objectives, and metrics. Partners with key leaders to promote and improve diversity, equity, and inclusion across BSWH through communications, education, and leadership actions. May lead or assist with compliance activities related to internal and external policies, laws, and regulations, such as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Oversees and develops analysis and reporting on diversity statistics for leadership and other stakeholders. Directs and monitors diversity, equity, and inclusion program progress and improvements, and may partner with leadership and HR colleagues to investigate and address program issues and grievances. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE 1.Designs and implements a holistic, system-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy by identifying key opportunities and gaps to build a long-term plan and measure progress against key commitments and results. 2.Serves as a thought leader in the organization on all aspects of diversity, equity, and inclusion bringing innovation, creative approaches, and best practices that make a real impact to BSWH practices and culture. 3.Develops, implements, and communicates a 5-year business plan with stated goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to create a best-in-class program. 4.Develops an employee engagement strategy to help build communities and culture, in addition to improving BSWH cultural practices. 5.Partners with key leaders across the organization broadly to drive accountability and transparency around targeted systemic improvements. 6.Researches and applies current healthcare best practices and solutions that impact and improve workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion at BSWH. 7.Develops and delivers on-going education, training, and communications to internal stakeholders on all diversity, equity, and inclusion matters. 8.Collaborates, influences, and reviews system-wide communications and messaging to ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion is considered and integrated into all aspects of BSWH internal and external communications. 9.Oversees Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), providing inspirational leadership, guidance, and direction. Ensures the groups have the appropriate resources and level of influence within the organization. 10.Advises, partners, and collaborates with other HR functions, including Talent Acquisition, on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and initiatives. KEY SUCCESS FACTORS 1.Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field. Master's Degree preferred. 2.5+ years of experience in Diversity or related HR role. 7+ years preferred. 3.3+ years of experience in a leadership role. 4.Experience with designing DEI programs for underrepresented and underserved populations. 5.Ability to develop practical and measurable DEI implementation plans in a variety of clinical and business environments. 6.Proven experience engaging and influencing senior leadership and other key stakeholders. 7.Ability to design and deliver effective presentations that appropriately address individual differences and professionally acknowledge cultural differences in the workplace. 8.Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 9.Ability to interpret results of diagnostic tools (e.g. engagement, new hire, and/or exit surveys) and identify DEI implications. 10.Ability to motivate, coach, motivate, and influence a matrixed team to deliver measurable results and progress. 11.Results-driven and deeply collaborative, with strong project management skills.
