The Procurement IT & Telecom Category Director will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing Category strategies to maximize value in buying IT & Telecom products and services. Oversees the execution of the category plan including sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations and management, supplier relationship management and stakeholder relationship management.
Understanding the current Spend Profile in all its aspects within the IT/Telecom Category and be able to complete in-depth data and spend analysis based on historical purchasing patterns
In conjuction with key stakeholders and based upon the spend profile, technology roadmap, knowledge of the supply market; devise, develop, implement and maintain effective Category strategies and plans for the IT/Telecom Category using a strategic focus and long-term view
Continually and proactively influence key stakeholders through active discussion and collaboration to deliver all category management objectives including Total Cost of Ownership savings, Purchase price savings, Cost Avoidance, Supplier Consolidation, Security of Supply, Efficiency improvements and Innovation, Internal Stakeholder satisfaction, Demand management, Environmental and social sustainability, Regulatory compliance
Lead, drive, and deliver the implementation of sourcing strategies using appropriate sourcing methodologies for IT/Telecom spend, ensuring alignment with business requirements, while optimizing cost and maximizing value
Be a source of expert knowledge for the IT/Telecom Category, for both existing Supplier engagements and potential capabilities in the broader supply market
Deliver to savings targets
Bachelorâ��s degree in business, finance or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience with minimum 15 yearsâ�� experience in a sourcing or procurement role required. Minimum 10 years IT & Telecom category management experience required, and healthcare experience preferred. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding and knowledge of hardware, software, professional services, cloud and outsourcing; and demonstrable experience of IT/Telecom specifications spend profiling, supply markets, cost driver, analysis, reporting and presentation capabilities.
