Description Application Developer Job Summary: This position is for an expert software developer to work as part of a team that is providing analysis and design, in support of clinical research. The role will work to develop, create, implement features of web-based Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems, and maintain data security and integrity while also contributing to database management and manipulation of survey data sets. This position will also be engaged in data and software management applications design and development, to support extraction, analysis and reporting of data. Successful candidates will possess familiarity with core concepts, practices, and procedures in database design, programming, systems development, and software engineering (including, but not limited to, object-oriented techniques and languages, database principles and programming, and open-source methodologies). Basic familiarity with clinical processes and clinical terminology, data privacy practices laws as well as ability to learn new technology and practices are needed. Department/Unit Summary The Department of Biostatistics at VUMC was founded in 2003, tasked with the mission of bringing biostatistical expertise to the Vanderbilt community.
