Work Hours/Shift: - Full-Time, Monday – Friday
You Will Be Responsible For: - Directly manage Clinical Resource Managers within a defined region
- Identify savings opportunities through collaboration between clinical or functional groups across facilities within the region and serve as a conduit between facilities, the region, and corporate
- Work closely with Region Director Supply Chain to set strategy and goals for region that are aligned with corporate initiatives
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, department leaders, and Clinical Resource Managers to develop high performing value analysis and new product introduction processes and reporting at each facility or in the region as appropriate
- Coordinate with VP Supply Chain Operations and other Regional Supply Chain Directors to identify opportunities for system-wide collaboration of operations and cost-savings
- Build and manage relationships with hospital leadership to ensure supply chain is a strategic financial partner within the region and supply chain strategies are in sync with financial, functional, and clinical strategies
- Analyze operations and expenses and provide leadership and assistance in achieving operational excellence as evidenced by achieving top benchmark scores for the industry comparisons
- Responsible for education, communication, and adoption of corporate initiatives and contracts, follow-up on implementation activities, and providing support and interface with hospital departments as needed to accomplish goals
- Review regional statistical data, financial reports, annual budgets, and cost analysis reports identifying improvement opportunities and best practices to be replicated or maintained
Qualifications
What You Will Need: Education and Experience Required: - Bachelors’ degree in Business Management, Healthcare, or related field
- 5+ years supply chain or related hospital operations experience
- 4+ years leadership experience
OR - 10+ years supply chain or related hospital operations experience
- 4+ years leadership experience
Knowledge and Skills Required: - In-depth knowledge of healthcare supply chain operations and processes
- Deep understanding of clinical/functional departments and hospital operations
- Ability to effectively communicate to various groups, ranging from hospital supply chain staff and clinicians to corporate executives verbally and in writing
- Proficient use of Microsoft applications and materials management/ERP systems
- Ability to design and implement effective value analysis, contracting, capital equipment procurement, and cost reduction processes
- Ability to provide Supply Chain leadership, strategic direction, oversight, and collaboration of parties across multiple disciplines and facilities to meet goals
- Proven ability to recognize colleagues’ strengths and development opportunities and provide them with ongoing feedback and coaching
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects across multiple facilities simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to methodically analyze and evaluate business problems by defining the challenges, identifying alternatives, and making timely decisions
- Successful track record of performance in achieving savings while managing the stakeholders in expense, quality, and outcome metrics
Job Summary: The Director of Supply Chain Strategic Projects is responsible for identifying opportunities to create and implement proactive strategies to improve processes, reduce supply and purchased services expense across the region, and align with direction from the Region Director on selection of projects to tackle. The position provides leadership and management for multiple projects across facilities in a defined region. This position serves as the direct report for the Clinical Resource Managers within the region and provides guidance to facilities related to the Value Analysis program ensuring alignment with system initiatives, efforts in place related to operational excellence, contract compliance, and the strategic direction of the system, division, and facility. Builds relationships in the region and at corporate services to facilitate and promote the delivery of lowest total cost of supplies, services and equipment while supporting clinical, functional, operational and quality criteria necessary to fulfill our mission.
