As Banner Health continues to grow, the newly created role of Senior Director Provider Compensation will lead provider compensation programs to ensure strategy and alignment across divisions, service lines, and local markets. POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for the strategic alignment of the provider compensation programs. This includes system comp philosophy and methodology development, creates centralized pay practices that results in an organizational provider compensation structure that aligns the provider workforce functions with the mission and strategic goals of Banner Health. This role will create transparent policy, procedures and guidelines that are well defined with well-documented review and approval. Ensures strategy alignment among the divisions, service lines and local markets and ensures market competitiveness across multiple medical groups, streamlining compensation request processes as part of an end-to-end solution. Will influence decision-making alignment between multiple medical groups. This role ensures the programs are compliant with federal, state and local regulations. Analyze current governance structure and makes recommendations/implements to address needs. Will assess and implement process improvement for business and compliance risk management; ongoing reporting and monitoring of workforce matters. Partners with IT to solution improved management of the provider contracting lifecycle; establish framework for business and compliance decisions. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Directs, supervises, and evaluates the work of direct staff and matrixed employees. 2. Participates into the development of the department budget to meet corporate goals and objectives. Meets annual budgetary goals. Translates organizational plans, goals, and initiatives into assumptions for annual operating and/or capital budgets. Negotiates contracts with external vendors for products and/or services and monitors/evaluates quality and/or performance. 3. Directs and participates in the development, implementation, and consistent application of effective organizational policies, procedures, and practices. Develops and supports internal controls to ensure that assets are safeguarded, policies and operating procedures are followed, necessary controls are effective and efficient, and compliance with current laws and regulations is achieved. 4. Reviews, prepares, analyzes, and presents reports and recommendations to senior leadership regarding operations, programs, services, and/or other applicable areas of interest in order to provide concise and accurate information that aids in decision-making. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in finance and/or business administration or equivalent level of education and experience. Significant technical and managerial knowledge, typically gained through 10+ years of relevant experience. Strong analytical skills, executive presence, strategic alignment; provider compensation compliance, governance and auditing; cultural transformation and integration; leadership with physician compensation oversight within integrated health system; complex problem-solving; Partnership building; mergers/acquisitions; workflow management and improvement. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Lean training/experience; leadership across highly-matrixed structure. Master's degree preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
