The primary function of the Senior Technical Consultant is to engage, lead, consult and advise upon technology solutions related to the entire source to settle Business to Business Source to Settle (S2S) technology stack in order to maximize supply chain operations. The Source to Settle technology relates to specific functional areas which include Supplier Management, Sourcing, Contracting, Requisitioning, Procurement, Receiving and Invoicing.
The position requires significant specialized knowledge of process engineering, system integration and business systems in order to oversee the plan, build and deployment of a new source to settle processes designed to improve upon existing processes.
This position will leverage 3rd party and intra-departmental relationships to ensure efficient operations and will work with directly with Supply Chain Leadership to achieve and demonstrate value through the S2S process.
This role will involve cross-selling the S2S system to ancillary departments within BSWH to build adoption for all aspects of the S2S technology modules and to facilitate maximum organizational cost savings resulting from:
increased competitive bidding through the sourcing process
increased contracted spend by reducing time-to-contract through contract management workflow optimization
reduced off-contract maverick spend by directing purchases to contracted products thereby achieving lower per spend category
reduced support interventions by enabling supplier portals designed to alleviate call volume to procure to pay staff (i.e. Procurement & Accounts Payable)
reduced product purchasing landed cost by optimizing discounts offered through early pay discounts increased payment discounts and rebates offered through direct payment transactional payment reconciliation
Influence resources to ensure success of all aspects of S2S projects including documentation of project scope, analysis/research of possible solutions, requirements gathering, process mapping and test plans
Oversees system architecture development using internal and external technical experts and recommends system design based upon business requirements, identifies and escalates issues
Manages testing efforts including the review of specifications, preparation and execution of testing
Functions as a client liaison to review priorities and manage the work queue between end users, software solution providers, implementation providers and IT
Builds rapport within the organization and effectively communicates and develops a professional level of cooperation across the organization
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the business environment and needs within the areas of responsibility and applies technical understanding to facilitate positive operational impacts to processes
Develop and foster effective collaboration between Corporate, Region and Hospital affiliated departments to ensure integrated approach to providing S2S services
Knowledge Skills or Abilities
Demonstrated leadership skills
Experience driving process improvement projects with positive results
Demonstrated understanding of industrial engineering or process engineering
Understanding of the software development lifecycle (sdlc) methodology, agile development and or waterfall development processes
Problem solving system processes and strong knowledge of data flow and integration
Strong understanding of Healthcare care delivery operations not required but is a plus
Strong working knowledge of Supply Chain and associated activities
Ability to quickly learn new software and applications
Lean or Six Sigma certification desirable
Demonstrated effectiveness to consult, sell and/or influence others to adopt ideas and/or methodologies
