Responsible for the development, design, implementation and execution of specific training and development initiatives within the BioLife Laboratories.
Responsible for ensuring initiatives meet key employee/team training needs and regulatory requirements as well as putting evaluation systems in place to monitor progress.
Develops training curriculum and materials based on needs assessments of skills required to perform jobs in the organization, changing compliance requirements, etc.
Ensure staff training requirements are met
Conduct training needs analyses for specific employee groups
Assists with developing and updating minimum training requirements (MTRs). Coordinates the development and updating of training documents. Coordinates scheduling of competency assessments (annual certifications).
Monitors due dates for semi-annual and annual refresher training for staff as required by training plans or regulatory requirements.
Coordinates and facilitates the new employee orientation process (NEO).
Assist with design, development, implementation and delivery of specific training and development initiatives to meet training needs across the facility.
Works with business partners to develop and deliver training programs for various initiatives within the laboratory.
Deliver corporate training courses as needed.
Manage administrative function of training department
Manages training documentation for all training courses administered and/or attended by staff.
Reviews training documentation for accuracy, completeness and compliance with requirements.
Tracks and reports key quality indicators or training and employee participation and involvement. Prepares and manages the training calendar (both classroom based courses and New Employee Orientation (NEO).Â

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise
Knowledge of Principles of Adult Learning or previous train-the-trainer certification is preferred.
Incumbent must have demonstrated excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, good problem solving and analytical skills required.
Customer orientation, teamwork skills and the ability to actively commit to, support and participate in continuous improvement activities are necessary for success in this position.
Travel as needed to support goals as well as ability to work flexible hours to meet training needs.
Familiarity with personal computer and various office computer programs.
Walking, standing, observing others performing work assignments.
Ability to work in an office / production environment.
Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Must be able to perform assessment of new projects/platforms and determine the level and complexity of training required for the learner, taking into consideration different learning styles.

Travel up to 10% of time may be required
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:Â
Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited college/university in a biomedical discipline (Chemical, physical, biological, clinical lab science, or medical technology,) preferred.Â Â Â Â

Associate degree from an accredited college/university in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
Degree in a field related to training/adult education or combination of education and work experience in an environment similar to a laboratory setting.
Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited college/university in a medical technology.
