Accountable for providing leadership, direction, and day-to-day Human Resources operations while maintaining a high level of visibility to staff and managers. Provide guidance and support to management team regarding established laws, policies, practices and services. Working well as a collaborative member of the team, as well as the broader leadership team, is imperative to success in the role, as is the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment where systems and processes are still being developed and maturing.
Responsible for recruitment and pre-screening of candidates; assisting hiring manager with interviewing and selection of the right candidate; and orientation processes for all new employees.
Proactively interacts with facility staff to anticipate and address employee relations issues and respond appropriately.
Assist and support managers and staff in disciplinary matters.
Assist and support managers by proactively planning recruitment process to ensure appropriate numbers and quality of staff are available to support current needs and growth plans.
Assess developmental needs; plan and facilitate educational programs to promote leadership development.
Lead planning, development, and administration of benefit programs, working with vendors to provide beneficial, cost effective, and competitive plans.
In conjunction with executive management, administer compensation plan; participate in market salary surveys and provide guidance to managers regarding consistent and equitable pay.
Assure that all personnel documentation is maintained in a manner consistent with regulatory agencies and applicable laws.
Collaborate and participate as needed with search process and preparing offer letters.
Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, offboarding employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
Promotes and personifies HHD's mission, vision, and values.
Develops long-range goals, annual objectives, and strategies for area(s) of responsibility.
Fosters and maintains collaborative professional relationships.
Responsible for New Employee Onboarding, Re-orientation, and on-going Leadership Development
Manages information and communication of changes in HR and administrative polices and procedures.
Develops and implements strategies to improve employee engagement.
Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs that help foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
Review data identifying barriers to attracting qualified candidates and developing strategies to overcome barriers.
Conduct exit interviews.
Allocate human resources, ensuring appropriate matches between personnel.
Oversee employee appreciation and recognition programs.
Conduct regular workplace culture assessments and lead actions to reinforce company standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
While performing the duties of this job the employee must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights up to 20 pounds. Requires acuity to use a keyboard and computer, and basic office equipment.
Directs all aspects of the Human Resources Department including oversight of:
Human Resources Generalist
Human Resources Benefits Manager.
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, or Five (5) or more years’ experience in human resource leadership. Extensive knowledge of employee relations, employment laws, recruitment and retention, and training. SPHR certification preferred.
