The Director of Finance - Planning is the primary leader of planning for the health system. This includes engaging with operating leaders and affiliates to drive system-level strategic, capital, financial, and operational planning, and forecasting. The work of the group will be a primary contributor to planning process from the department level, to senior management, and to the Board of Directors, and will be used for external communications to banks, rating agencies and other interested parties. This position will also lead the combined market analytics function that will provide support to service lines and business development through a dotted line reporting relationship to President of Service Lines.
Based in the Twin Cities Metro area, this position will require residency within proximity of the workplace. As this position offers some ability to telecommute, it is the expectation the following requirements of the remote work policy will be met, including but not limited to:

Maintains an internet connection consistent with Fairview standards at remote workspace.
Remain productive and responsive during their scheduled work hours.
Attend primary Fairview location, as needed.
Lead an annual integrated strategic, financial, and capital planning process
Partner with Service Line Finance, Business Development to capture all critical inputs for annual Plan and Service Line financial reporting, analysis and decision support
Partner with EPMO to accurately capture the impact of enterprise projects across business units for planning and forecasting
Provide market analytics necessary to support business development, planning, and strategic decision making
Lead the forecasting processes that enables operations leaders to drive results and consistently achieve plan
Lead capital reporting and approval processes; partner with Treasury to forecast and manage balance sheet
Develop and maintain Board of Directors and Senior Management plan reporting packages

Ten or more years of finance experience including work in health care or health care consulting organizations with five years of team leadership
Strong demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills and experience
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with and positively influence operations leaders
Ability to synthesize financial and operating data into concise and actionable information for financial and non-financial users
Strong financial reporting systems aptitude and disciplined process orientation
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
