ResponsibilitiesAs the Director of the Santa Monica Clinical Laboratory, you will oversee the daily operations of a lab that operates on a 24/7 basis. In this key position, you will be responsible for 70+ laboratory personnel, and oversee all administrative/personnel management, budget, productivity, materials management and regulatory compliance/licensing for the lab. Your role will involve consistent engagement with multiple departmental and organizational levels. Duties include:
•Lead, guide, mentor, develop and inspire staff •Manage operations and overall financial viability of the department •Support departmental operations and hospital missions •Serve as the department ambassador engaging with both internal and external partners •Lead change initiatives that align with department goals and support hospital mission •Assure the delivery of optimal, cost-effective services and quality patient care
We’re seeking a self-directed leader with:
•Proven supervisory/managerial experience within a clinical laboratory •Current, valid California Clinical Laboratory Science licensure •Related Bachelor’s degree •Exceptional strategic leadership, planning and change management skills •Proven diplomacy and influencing abilities •Outstanding analytical, interpersonal and communication skills •Demonstrated experience in financial planning, analysis and decision support •Strong judgment and decision-making abilities •Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise outside of normal working hours/off-hours •In-depth knowledge of industry standards, trends and regulatory requirements •Five years of knowledge and experience with laboratory operations, policies, and practices preferred
