Job Summary
Geisinger's Steele Institute for Health Innovation serves as the innovation “hub” for Geisinger. The Institute's purpose is to support Geisinger innovators and lead the nation in building transformative, scalable, measurable and sustainable solutions that improve health, care delivery, patient experience and lower costs. The Institute provides a nontraditional environment where bold, out-of-the-box thinking can flourish and where pioneering innovators can explore, define and disseminate new models of healthcare.The Innovation Project Manager oversees small to medium size innovation projects and like size phases of larger innovation projects utilizing GH standardized Project Management Methodology (PMM) and other industry standard best practices. Will manage multiple projects concurrently. The primary portfolio will be managing the Chronic Disease Command Center(CDMCC) project. The CDMCC is a 4 pronged portfolio that includes technology platform leveraging numerous new technologies/tools, including but not limited to advanced clinical protocols, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, remote monitoring, mobility, home diagnostics, sensors and patient reported outcomes, for individual care (including identification, risk assessment, treatment, remote management, triage, and care management) as well as population and health system management (including utilization, predictive modeling, and social determinants of health). The Innovation Project Manager works collaboratively with project stakeholders and functional managers to develop project goals and objectives, set project timeline, manage change, and control scope. Responsible for managing project artifacts. Effectively utilizes project management tools. Leads project team in collaboration with Innovation functional leadership to achieve project goals and objectives on time and within budget. Reports and appropriately escalates project progress, concerns, and issues to project stakeholders, Clinical Advisor and Sr. Director, Innovation Operations.
Job Duties
- As the point of contact on assigned projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams.
- Facilitates and troubleshoots the myriad of problems associated with developing complex systems or with coordinating and development, and design projects.
- Provides highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to department management and personnel.
- Responds to inquiries about projects.
- Chairs various project review and pre-submittal meetings.
- Establishes and maintains liaison as required with boards, committees and commissions.
- Assists in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
- Performs project design for assigned projects.
- Coordinates schedules of staff and other interested parties.
