This position will provide varied support for clinical trials and research projects within the Emergency Medicine Research Division under direct supervision of a Clinical Translational Research Coordinator III or IV. This research position will perform a variety of duties involved in the direct support for specified research projects; collect, assess, and communicate data/results. The role is expected to assist research faculty and staff in ensuring adherence to protocols, appropriate regulations, assist in general laboratory operation and inventory for this site and other collaborating sites.

Key functions and expected performances include but are not limited to the following:
Assists research coordinators and lead staff in laboratory.
Read and follow protocols and laboratory procedures.
Monitors patient consent forms are completed correctly.
Follow Medical Center Safety procedures.
Discusses findings with research coordinators and lead staff.
Assists to maintain web-based ultra-cold freezer management system.
Compile and communicate results of specimen queries
Inputs all pertinent research specimen data into database accurately
Maintains and organizes ultra-cold freezer specimens
Set up inventory
Assists to ensure compliance with laboratory protocol and applicable regulations.
Maintains maintenance schedules and records for laboratory equipment
Informs research coordinators and lead staff of tests and procedures as needed
Schedules shipping of specimens and samples to meet protocol deadlines.
Prepares kits for procedures, labels tubes, according to each study with specific times and dates for collection.
Freezes, spins, separates samples, and cultures as necessary.
Mails inventory to designated labs.
Assists clinical research coordinators and lead staff with monitoring compliance with protocol and regulations
Develops tools for accurate laboratory protocols.
Ensures complete source documentation in record
Ensures treatment and dates match
Monitors patient consent forms are completed correctly.
Assists to maintain good laboratory clinical practices
Set up tools and kits to aid follow up and laboratory compliance.
Maintains laboratory inventory and supplies
Operate laboratory equipment
This is a full-time position; 40 hours per week; M-F with weekend and holiday rotations
Salary is dependent upon education and experience.
