POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the strategic direction and maintenance of the technical environment for the company's system wide business systems. Acts independently or leads teams in the design, direction and coordination of complex hardware and software system configurations. Incumbent is responsible for resolution of complex system problems and issues assuring solution is timely and of acceptable quality.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Participates in taskforces to plan, implement, and coordinate facility activities to maximize systems quality, effectiveness and efficiency.
2. Formulates the technical design, direction, and support of the company's business systems. Ensures that department, company, and industry standards are implemented and consistently adhered to. Ensures that current reliability and functionality is maintained.
3. Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves critical and multifaceted technical errors ensuring the solution is timely and of acceptable quality.
4. Designs and administers complex technical standards and policies regarding data, imports, exports and general access to data.
5. Provides technical expertise and guidance to department analysts and/or engineers. Mentors junior members of the team.
6. Collaborates on feasibility studies, request for information/proposal (RFI/RFP) assembly, return on investment (ROI) calculations, capital or operating budgets or other high level strategic planning sessions.
7. This position has responsibility for technical stability of systems. Work is performed in a fast paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. The incumbent has high level decision-making authority and works at peer level with management across diverse areas and multiple states. The incumbent participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, strategic and planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions system wide.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a strong technical and business knowledge as typically obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree related field.
Must also have in-depth knowledge of concepts within job function as would normally be obtained in 6-8 years work experience in the field.
Must demonstrate general knowledge of information technology and healthcare. Needs experience in medium scale project planning and reporting either individual or team. Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels. Incumbent will have skills to mentor less experienced team members. As typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
