Helps to evaluate, design, and develop the ways an application or technical process will need to function based on the proposed architecture with an emphasis on performance and scalability. Responsible for new applications as well as revisions to existing applications. Defines product technical requirements and creates technical solutions, ensuring feasibility, functionality, performance, and integration with existing systems/platforms.
Collaborates with architects and other engineers to evaluate and determine feasibility of technical requirements.
Analyzes requirements and transforms them into technical solutions.
Designs, develops, and reengineers existing solutions into new solutions.
Designs and develops brand new engineered solutions.
Tests, debugs, and resolves issues.
Works with architects and developers throughout development activities.
Defines and documents requirements, capturing non-functional and functional requirements, assisting with estimates and defining technical solutions to formal and informal RFPs.
Designs proof-of-concept initiatives in new technologies.
Works with the development team and ensures proper execution throughout all phases of development activities, starting from requirements analysis and design through deployment.
Provides technical guidance, performs reviews of software and project artifacts to maintain consistency with desired architecture, and works with other engineers, architects, and developers to prevent and resolve technical issues.
Designs automated processes to enhance development/deployment processes.
Participates in design discussion with management and project leaders, and presents solutions and highlights benefits and risks.
Objectively selects appropriate technologies based on the business and functional priorities and requirements.
Identifies and effectively negotiates with management teams appropriate resource needs to fulfill technical project needs.
Works with management to develop staffing, infrastructure and software release plans.
This includes facilitation of scope definition, estimates, resource requirements and delivery management.
