The role you’ll contribute:
The Resuscitation Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating assigned resuscitation programs, including American Heart Association (AHA) high stakes evaluation of medical simulation education, training and certification for all campuses, service lines and departments (both clinical and non-clinical) across the AdventHealth system and associated programs/partners, including the Graduate Medical Education programs and AdventHealth University. Provides management services and learner-centered solutions for education, training and simulation activities across AdventHealth. Develops orientation and mentoring relationships to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Functions as a campus expert liaison, consultant, data analyst and counsel for continuous process improvement. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Management: Supports the planning, development and execution of the organizational strategy to include planning, monitoring and adjusting learning and development projects or activities. Oversees cost, schedule and performance of assigned projects. Establishes action plans and milestones for self and others to complete work efficiently and on time by setting priorities, establishing timelines, and leveraging resources. Develops comprehensive management plans for simulations to improve organizational performance. Manages and oversees all operational program resources including simulation training rooms, human patient simulators, task trainers, simulation equipment, department funding, various full-time, part-time, agency, and independent contractor personnel to include standardized patients/role players. Prioritizes support and resolves conflicts based on the identified needs of the customers relative to the system-level strategic initiatives assessment. Envisions the future and lead change in resource constraints and implements resolutions, involving executive leaders as required.
Simulation Curriculum Development: Utilizes educational theory that supports simulation as a learning strategy in the development of simulation. Develops, designs, implements and facilitates simulated experiences to meet specific curricular objectives and educational criteria related to multidisciplinary healthcare providers and high stakes AHA evaluations. Integrates current research/literature, industry best practice and evidenced-based care in all simulated learning activities. Determines the appropriate simulation modality using best practices for educational outcomes. Conducts needs assessment to identify learning objectives to determine training solutions and performance enhancement solutions. Ensures that assessment tools are valid and reliable. Selects simulation modalities, locales, and/or technologies as appropriate for assessment activities. Supervises all operational aspects of assigned program(s) in support of department and hospital strategic initiatives. Develops, executes, and leads several projects within program simultaneously, utilizing various department stakeholders to ensure performance meets expectations. Maintains visibility of all events and meetings involving assigned teams and programs. Prioritizes support and resolves conflicts within program.
Simulation Training Team Development: Conducts training programs for healthcare providers, including principles of simulation in healthcare, development of simulation scenarios, safe learning environment, facilitation and debriefing skills. Provides high stakes evaluation and feedback for facilitators of simulation activities including scenario design, facilitation and debriefing skills. Conducts onboarding, continuing professional development and mentoring for new simulation facilitators, educators, AHA/AAP instructors and operations specialists. Develops, designs, implements, facilitates and evaluates curriculum and materials for faculty development. Creates innovative solutions to complex problems with several small teams of personnel through delegation/assignments, strategic guidance, and professional development.
Program Improvement: Ensures that resuscitation certification, training and simulation activities facilitate patient safety, risk management, organization improvement and quality outcomes. Provides expertise on resuscitation simulation curriculum development/design, course facilitation and simulators/associated equipment as needed. Designs evaluation strategies and tools to determine whether desired learning and performance outcomes are achieved. Continually assesses opportunities for improvement in all aspects of learning technologies. Actively participates and contributes expertise to process improvement activities. Review course materials in order to recommend quality learning experiences, effective assessment and functionality. Utilizes personal assessments along with peer recommendations to implement effective process changes in programs.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher clinical degree (e.g., Nurse Practitioner, Physician's Assistant, Medical Doctor, etc.)
5 years of experience in healthcare
3 years of simulation, training, teaching, or education experience
2 years of experience in project coordination or operations
If registered nurse, current, active State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification
Instructor certification in at least one AHA discipline (i.e., ACLS/BLS/PALS)
