We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Vice President of Business Development for AdventHealth West Florida Division (WFD) located in Tampa.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the division CEO/President and the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Growth, the Vice President (VP) of Business Development is responsible for the development of strategic growth plans and the execution of those plan. Oversees the business development function for the WFD campuses as well as across AdventHealth Medical Group and Service Lines. Responsible for effectively managing and overseeing site selection, provider recruitment, facility site development and space planning across all markets in the WFD footprint. Ensures appropriate placement and deployment of products/services and network assets through a collaborative planning process across all campuses and service lines. The VP of Business Development works directly with the SEOs in determining the strategic placement of services to establish an effective footprint of care across our markets. Overseas Business Development team of directors in development of new business opportunities within AdventHealth and develops these opportunities into operational ready product lines. Works collaboratively with appropriate teams to ensure optimal site selection and deal terms. Assists in the leadership and development of directors who manage the related resources required to meet the needs of patients, physicians, the public and staff. Ensures compliance with the organizational compliance plan and the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and regulatory and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plays a lead role in developing strategic plans to drive growth for WFD across both Acute Care Services (ACS) as well as AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG).
Oversees and leads new product implementation through operational ready phase and ensures smooth handoff to operations team.
Works to develop and grow targeted programs and services as well as monitor and understand any shifts in current volumes. Ensures each strategic initiative has a robust and complete business plan, which includes sound market data as well as a proforma.
Monitors and guides business development activities that will assist in accomplishing quarterly accountabilities and well as service line goals. Operationalizes the Division’s growth and helps to identify potential business and practice acquisitions as well as physician alignment opportunities.
Oversees the Business Development teams.
Understands and remains current on market trends, competitor activity as well as threats and opportunities. Uses this information to assist in the planning process. Strategically identifies and evaluates market opportunities for future growth and locates new practice, ambulatory and ancillary sites for selection.
Responsible for the footprint of care through the lens of our consumer needs as well as competitive activity; examines infrastructure and logistics to ensure the value of the organization’s assets. Assists in the development of an adequate network footprint within the market to include placement of AdventHealth products and services.
Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff.
Develops and maintains annual budgets for the business development department.
Maintains positive relations acting as liaison to ensure collaboration across multiple disciplines.
Continually bring national best practices and innovative business models, both within and outside of health care, and incorporate best practices into new business structures.
Serves as an executive leader in the organization, representing the strategic function to both internal and external stakeholders.
Exercises independent decision-making processes to identify, plan, and execute goals.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Knowledge of strategic health service market research and site placement strategies.
Knowledge of federal and state health care laws and regulations, including federal and state anti-kickback statutes, the Stark Law, and HIPAA.
Exceptional people management, leadership skills, and the capacity to relate to people in a manner that wins confidence and establishes support.
Strategic vision and thinking. Ability to position the organization for the future, looking beyond the present situation to conceptualize key trends and identify changing market demands.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration or related field
Minimum of five (5) years in a leadership position
Minimum of six (6) years in healthcare, business development, or project management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field.
Eight (8) years of previous relevant healthcare leadership experience.
