The Manager, Foundation is responsible for development and implementation of fundraising events and annual fundraising campaigns, focused on creating meaningful and impactful engagement opportunities for donors throughout the year. This position will report to the Vice President, Donor Engagement and Experience and will lead the annual fundraising team by developing and implementing strategies to achieve goals—including signature events, patron events, third party events, giving societies and special projects. This person will be responsible for creating an events strategy, working collaboratively with the event logistics team, tracking milestones and fundraising progress, leading event fundraising team, soliciting corporate and individual sponsors for assigned events, maintaining a pipeline of sponsors, donors and volunteer leadership, managing post event donor follow up and pipeline strategy and driving a multi-year plan and strategy for overall annual fundraising goals. This person will also work with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Senior Officer of Stewardship to enhance the annual giving program and assist with appeal strategies.
This position requires significant teamwork and frequent contact with Foundation leadership, donors, community volunteers, physicians and employees at all levels of the organization. It is a multifaceted role that requires the ability to analyze complex data and develop strong, strategic insights and plans to support effective and measurable Foundation goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Strategy and Leadership (30%)
Provide strategic leadership for new and existing events, both cultivation/educational and fundraising events, that supports BSW Dallas Foundation’s plan and fundraising goals.
Lead team through the development and execution of a multi-year fundraising strategy to support and grow signature and annual events revenue.
Develop, implement and evaluate event strategies to achieve short-range and long-range goals; communicate and coordinate with VP, Donor Engagement and Experience on the status and accomplishments of short and long-range plans, goals and objectives for event activities.
Work with event logistics lead to build strategies and outline clear roles and responsibilities.
Work collaboratively with the team in the strategy and execution of board meetings and board engagement events.
Work closely with marketing and design teams to optimize processes and strategy and remove barriers to best support successful fundraising events.
Instrumental in building, cultivating and stewarding volunteer leadership chairs/committees.
Drive event stewardship strategy and execution.
Oversee event expenditures and revenue, with the goal of creating high ROI.
Communicate action items, statuses and potential issues/risks appropriately throughout the course of assigned events/project(s).
Work with other team members and volunteers as needed to optimize event strategy.
Fundraising (50%)
Responsible for overall annual event fundraising goals, including assigned events.
Work collaboratively with development team to identify, engage and manage event chairs and committee members for assigned events.
Responsible for donor engagement and achieving fundraising goals through underwriting, sponsorships, and table/ticket sales for assigned events.
Evaluate progress toward financial goals and make strategic revisions to fundraising plans.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure successful execution of events, drive a strategic and focused process with fundraising and events team to capture event attendee information, activate stewardship plan and identify potential event donors for major gift pipeline.
Develop compelling messaging around sponsorship opportunities to ensure effective communication.
Support or conduct face-to-face visits, solicitations and other high-level interactions with volunteers, donors and prospects supporting fundraising events.
Assess giving potential, recommend target ask amounts, facilitate donor asks and develop personalized strategies for sponsorships.
Work with stewardship team to produce successful renewal outreach for annual giving society members and follow up with donors to retain and/or upgrade giving, create strategy for an additional ask or move through major gift pipeline.
Draft proposals and/or presentations for individual and/or corporate donor prospects.
Logistics (20%)
Work collaboratively with event logistics team to produce successful event experiences.
May be responsible for event logistics of specific events and as assigned.
Provide detailed, timely and accurate data entry of relevant information in RE.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Non-profit Studies or other related disciplines from an accredited college or university.
7+ years of professional experience in relationship management or development support.
Must be a proficient project manager and possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Demonstrated experience in high-level events, managing relationships and soliciting donors for support.
Proven ability to implement new initiatives, measure and discern progress and adjust to maximize results.
Must be comfortable working within a demanding and complex corporate environment with access to highly confidential and proprietary information.
Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for wide-ranging responsibilities.

Experience working with donor database, Raiser’s Edge a plus
Experience working in Microsoft Office 365 Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint; experience working with Adobe Creative Suite.
