BJC is seeking a Clinical Appeals Specialist for a remote position. (Must be located in MO or IL). The ideal candidate should have familiarity with revenue cycle or managed care. Responsibilities include following up on appeals. Experience with Epic and denials is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Responsible for resolving clinical denials for BJC hospitals and payors. The Clinical Appeals Specialist must be able to multi-task and maintain a high level of professionalism when communicating with payors, and hospitals. In addition to writing appeals, the Clinical Appeals Specialist must be proficient in using web-based payor portals such as Allscripts and VitalWare to review documentation to write a compelling appeal. The Clinical Appeals Specialist must be able to identify trends and escalate them to the appropriate department. Acts as a resource for other team members and provides education to hospital partners as needed.
