We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager 2 to lead complex, multi-site healthcare and clinical initiatives within a fast-paced hospital environment. This role is ideal for a strategic project management professional with proven experience managing large-scale grants, coordinating across multiple clinical sites, and driving projects from planning through execution.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting healthcare or hospital-based programs involving grant-funded initiatives, operational coordination across 13+ sites, and cross-functional stakeholder management. This individual must be comfortable balancing competing priorities, leading diverse teams, and traveling as needed to support project implementation and operational success across locations.
This position requires collaborative skills, with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills who can effectively manage timelines, budgets, resources, and project deliverables while maintaining alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
Essential Functions of the Role
Develops comprehensive project plans to ensure successful execution, appropriate resourcing, and effective change management strategies.
Leads moderate to large-scale healthcare and clinical projects across multiple sites, ensuring timely completion of deliverables, quality outcomes, and operational alignment.
Oversees and coordinates projects involving up to 13 locations/sites while maintaining consistency, communication, and accountability across teams.
Supports and manages large grant-funded initiatives within a clinical, hospital, or healthcare setting, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, timelines, and reporting expectations.
Establishes clear project charters, deliverables, milestones, timelines, team roles, responsibilities, and success metrics.
Prepares and presents project scope documentation and secures stakeholder agreement and approvals throughout each project phase.
Conducts feasibility studies, business planning, risk assessments, and benefit analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Identifies staffing, equipment, operational, and financial resources necessary to successfully complete projects within scope and budget.
Collaborates with internal departments, clinical leadership, operational teams, and external partners to secure resources and maintain project momentum.
Maintains detailed project documentation including project plans, schedules, budgets, meeting notes, risk logs, and status reports.
Communicates project expectations, task assignments, deadlines, and updates clearly and professionally to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Proactively identifies risks, barriers, and operational challenges and implements mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines and goals.
Monitors project status and escalates issues or recommendations to leadership as appropriate.
Facilitates project meetings, workgroups, and operational discussions to support project execution and team alignment.
Serves as a key point of contact for senior leadership, stakeholders, vendors, consultants, and cross-functional teams.
Supervises day-to-day project activities and supports team coordination in an efficient and professional manner.
Manages vendor and consultant relationships, ensuring contract compliance, performance expectations, and project deliverables are achieved.
Travels to project sites as needed to support implementation, stakeholder engagement, operational oversight, and project success.
Maintains knowledge of business operations, healthcare workflows, and project management best practices to support organizational initiatives effectively.
Key Success Factors
Proven experience managing complex healthcare or hospital-based projects.
Demonstrated experience overseeing large grant-funded programs or initiatives within a clinical or healthcare environment.
Experience managing operations and project execution across multiple sites/locations simultaneously.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred.
Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong ability to build collaborative cross-functional relationships and influence teams across departments.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to anticipate challenges, adapt quickly, and drive projects forward effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
High attention to detail with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration/project management tools.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support project operations across sites.
